about

On their 7th release, Budapest punk rock veterans Bankrupt deliver their Ramones-influenced trademark sound with three songs out of the five, while breaking new ground in indie pop territory with the remaining two.
The opening track, Timewaster is pure 77 punk rock with an instantly
memorisable chorus. Veronica is a Ramones-flavored tune about the other Fword, fatherhood – it was bound to happen after so many songs about girls.
Close Encounters talks about how tribal politics and mind-numbing
propaganda poisons the lives of people in Hungary, backed up with up-tempo melodic punk rock along the lines of Bad Religion.
And now for something completely different. Alone is a bouncy indie pop tune making fun of girls desperately looking for Mr. Right. Monday Morning is reminiscent of London Calling-era Clash with a touch of early Cure and if you’ve ever had a job, you won’t have problems identifying with the lyrics.
The five-song EP is free to download from the band’s website.
